Earlier this year, the City of Darien was awarded a $53,000 Illinois Community Canopy Tree Inventory & Management Plan Grant awarded through Trees Forever, with funding through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR). The grant supported a comprehensive tree inventory and long-term management strategy to ensure Darien’s public trees remain safe, healthy, and sustainable for years to come.
Davey Resource Group has conducted a complete survey of all public trees in Darien, located within street right-of-ways. The final inventory contains 9,004 trees across 90 species entries.
