March 13 is National K9 Veterans Day. Since the US Army first started the "K9 Corps" over 80 years ago, the military has trained tens of thousands of dogs to alert their human counterparts of danger and assist them during military operations. Today, K9 units, like the one we have here in Darien, help to keep communities safe. This Friday, let's honor our American military, police, and other working dogs who have saved lives and warmed hearts throughout our history.
