“Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts forth with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale." - Lauren DeStefano
As we welcome the arrival of Fall here in Darien, I find myself reflecting on the changing seasons, not just in nature, but in life itself.
Each of us has our own favorite time of year. Some of you might say Winter is most magical when a fresh blanket of snow turns our town into a quiet, glistening wonderland. Others may favor Summer, with its sun-filled days, outdoor gatherings, and laid-back joy of flip flops, bathing suits and barbecues. Then there are those who cherish Spring, when the world reawakens and hope “springs” eternal with every blooming flower and budding tree.
As for me, I have come to realize that Fall is my favorite season, for to me it is synonymous with my life. I love the crispness in the air, the soft breeze during a quiet walk, and the kaleidoscope of colors that Nature uses to light up our trees. There was a time I saw Fall only as a prelude to Winter, as a reminder that colder days were near. But now, I view Fall differently. To me it mirrors a season of life; a time to pause, reflect, and simply appreciate all that has gone on in my earlier life.
Just as Spring represents the early years of learning and discovery, and Summer symbolizes the busy, fulfilling years of work and family, Fall to me, is a season of gratitude. It is a time to slow down, to shed the busyness of the past, and to take stock of all the beauty that surrounds us; especially the beauty of found relationships, memories, and community.
So, this Fall, I encourage you to take a moment; step outside, feel the breeze, take in the colors, and reflect on what this season means to you. Simply reply to this newsletter via email; we would love to know what makes each season special for you.
Wishing you a peaceful, colorful, and joy filled Autumn!
