The City of Darien is soliciting for competitive quotes for services consisting of removal and replacement of driveway aprons and/or street crossings. The bituminous products will include 3 inches for driveway aprons and 5 inches for roadway crossings.
The attached proposed material summary sheet lists the materials and range of quantities based on a submitted unit price. The scope of the project includes saw cutting, grading, placement of hot bituminous and compacting. The bituminous product shall be applied in two lifts within the roadways.
The City of Darien reserves the right to reduce, eliminate, or increase the specified material and/or quantity. The awarded vendor shall be responsible for the disposal of all spoils generated. The pricing shall be held in place from May 1, 2026 through April 30, 2027. The City will also be entertaining two optional extensions: May 1, 2027 through April 30, 2028 and May 1, 2028 through April 30, 2029.
Quotes will be accepted until November 12, 2025, until the hour of 9:00 am. Quotes may be faxed to 630-852-4709 or emailed to rkokkinis@darienil.gov with a hard copy delivered to the City of Darien at 1702 Plainfield Road and clearly marked as Bituminous Services, ATTN: Municipal Services.
Prevailing wage rates apply. Certified payroll shall be submitted with payout request.
The work shall further include the removal and disposal of any aggregate and bituminous material as directed.
Any and all requests or addendums shall be made in writing to the attention of Director of Municipal Services via email at dgombac@darienil.gov. All requests will be responded to within 48 hours to all bidders on file.
