Issue Statement
Consideration
of an AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 9, CHAPTER 3 OF THE DARIEN
CITY CODE DEALING WITH PARKING RESTRICTIONS – increase fine for parking in fire
lane and spaces designated for disabled parking.
Background/History
The City collects fees and fines as part of the General Fund revenue. The
Admin/Finance Committee compared our building permit fees and police fines to
other communities. The Committee concluded that the only 2 increases they are
recommending are for parking in a fire lane and parking in spaces designated
for disabled parking. The fire lane fine is recommending to be increased from
$25 to $50. The fine for parking in spaces designated for disabled parking is
recommended to be increased from $250 to $350. The attached survey information was
