ISSUE STATEMENT

Motion approving Hinsdale South Athletic Club Annual Hornet Run, 5k Run / 1 Mile Walk on Sunday, May 1, 2011, beginning at 8:30 a.m.

REQUEST BACKUP

BACKGROUND/HISTORY

The Hinsdale South Athletic Club will be hosting its Annual Hornet Run, 5k Run / 1 Mile Walk on Sunday, May 1, 2011 beginning at 8:30 a.m. They have forwarded their request early to allow them better time to find sponsors for the event. I told the Athletic Club that I could not commit to free police services for the event until the City conducted budget meetings in the spring. In order to secure early approval for the event the athletic club said they would cover the police expenses if required by the City. Based on this offer I advised the Athletic Club that I would forward their request to the City Council.

Administrative/Finance Committee and Staff recommend approval of the motion
