Recruitment
The City of Darien Board of Fire & Police Commission is accepting
applications for the purpose of establishing an eligibility list for
Police Officers. Starting Salary is $53,060.04. Application packets
may be downloaded from the link above or obtained from the Darien
Police Department, 1710 Plainfield Road, Darien, Illinois, starting
October 1, 2009. Completed applications must be returned to the
Darien Police Department no later than October 30, 2009 at 5:00pm.
There is a $30.00 non-refundable fee required at application
submission. Study Guides for the written test may be purchased
for $10.00 at the Darien Police Department. Checks should be written
out to the “City of Darien”.
Prospective Applicants Must Meet The Following Criteria:
- Must be 21 years of age and under 35. Age hiring limitations
imposed by State Statute are applicable
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have a high school degree or G.E.D. equivalent
- Must meet the requirements of a background check
- Must pass a medical, psychological and polygraph test
- Must have a valid driver’s license at time of hiring
Additional requirements and supporting documentation requested of
applicants will be provided as part of the Commission’s packet.
The application and examination process are subject to the rules
and regulations of the City of Darien Fire & Police Commission.
Testing will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 8:00am at
Hinsdale South High School, 7401 Clarendon Hills Road, Darien,
Illinois. Applicants must have submitted proper application before
testing and must present photo identification. No admittance will be
allowed after 8:00am.
