In today’s world of rapid changes, the methods used by law enforcement must also change in order to maintain Darien’s low crime rate. I believe our police department has a very competent staff always willing to serve and assist the members of our community. The Darien Police Department has a force of 34 full time sworn police officers managed by Chief Robert Pavelchik, and 2 deputy chiefs. The department has a public relations officer, a police liaison officer at Hinsdale South High School, DARE Instructors, an investigations unit and several bike patrol officers.
