Officer Rich Stutte and Rolf
Canine Rolf, Badge #392, is a German Shepherd born June 13,
2001 and imported from Czechoslovakia to Landheim Kennels in
Indiana. Rolf began patrolling in Darien on December 19,
2003 after six weeks of training with his handler and
partner, Officer Richard Stutte, #321. The K-9 team is
certified annually by the North American Police Work Dog
Association (NAPWDA.COM) in the area of tracking,
building/area searches, handler protection, obedience,
narcotics detection and article/evidence recovery. When not
at work, Rolf lives with Officer Stutte.
Canine
Officer Steve Liss and Quanto
Canine Quanto, imported from Germany, began patrolling
Darien in December of 2003. Quanto responds only to German
commands of his handler and partner, Officer Steve Liss. The
K-9 team is certified in tracking, building/area searches,
handler protection, obedience, and narcotics detection.
Officer Liss and Quanto are also members of the Felony
Investigation Assistance Team / Emergency Response Team.
FIAT SWAT assists with high-risk operations that require
special skills and tactics.
