2010 Coach Light ProgramMany of the homes built in Darien have gas or incandescent coach pole lights that have been installed on private property adjacent to the right of way. The lighting was installed for aesthetics, security and limited street lighting within subdivisions. Today, many of the existing coach lamps are not functioning, require repair, have been removed or need to be replaced. The City of Darien on behalf of its residents has entertained proposals for fixtures and installers for gas and electric coach post lamps. The proposed program would allow residents to upgrade, fix or install new various style coach lights through City entertained competitive quotes at a pass through cost to residents.
